Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is a maintenance approach which considers participation of all employees form executives to laborers necessary, aims to maximize equipment efficiency, to repair breakdown and to prevent repetition of faults, and provides autonomous maintenance.

PURPOSE OF TPM
What we intend to do with TPM is to deploy resources optimally by clearing away all current problems effecting directly or indirectly

TARGETS OF TPM
There many targets of TPM. These can be grouped under two headings:
-Providing a competitive advantage in the market
-Gearing efficiency of systems up in production
In order to achieve these targets, first of all, executives must believe in this and then all employees from executives to laborers must be trained.
